East Clear Creek - Kinder Crossing

East Clear Creek is one of my favorite places in all of Arizona.  The rocks are majestic, the variety of the trees and terrain is stunning and there's plenty of fun to be had by the creek.  This was the first back packing trip that we took with the whole family (we are actually missing my oldest daughter) but since everyone else made it, I'm counting it.  Normally we can barely fit all of the camping equipment in the minivan, but not this time.  We had no problem just fitting our backpacks.  In some ways backpacking is a little more difficult to plan for, however, it is so much easier to pack and clean up.  It leaves the family with a lot more time to explore and have fun.  This is a very short hike, less than a mile, though there is elevation change.  We hiked down the 2nd week in Oct.  The weather was perfect and there are fewer hikers this time of year.

We made it!! All of our equipment in our backpacks.

Campsite Early Morning (camped near creek before "Kinder Crossing"
I could not resist climbing around the edge of the creek.  Fun and Safe bouldering
